Lum and Abner - Two Weeks to Live

Lum and Abner are best known for their very popular and long running radio show. They also made a few movies in the 1940's. In "Two Weeks to Live", Abner mistakenly thinks he only has two weeks left to live. This is my favorite of the Lum and Abner movies, it is funny!

My Man Godfrey - starring William Powell and Carole Lombard

While on a scavenger hunt, a spoiled, wealthy socialite (Irene), finds "a forgotten man" (Godfrey) living at the city dump and brings him home to be the family butler. This funny comedy was nominated for 6 Oscars.

A Bride for Henry - starring Anne Nagel, William Hull and Henry Mollison

When a young woman's fiance doesn't show up on the day of the wedding, she decides to go ahead with the wedding and marries her lawyer, Henry. Her fiance shows up on the honeymoon and there are lots of funny scenes between the three of them in this amusing, vintage romantic comedy.

And Then There Were None - Agatha Christie

Ten people are invited to an island by a mysterious, unidentified host. The guests are killed one by one and there is no way to leave the island. This is a good mystery movie based on an Agatha Christie novel. Release date was October 31, 1945 (USA). Full length movie, 97 minutes.

Captain Scarlett - Movie

After the fall of Napoleon, "Captain Scarlett" (Richard Greene - The Adventures of Robin Hood) returns home and discovers that his land has been stolen. Lots of swashbuckling adventure as Captain Scarlett fights for justice. This is a movie the whole family can enjoy.

Set in nineteenth century Cornwall, where Mary is sent to live with her Aunt Patience and Uncle Joss. Mary soon discovers that her Uncle, who is landlord of Jamaica Inn, is also the head of a gang of pirates.
